Constantino Aucca Chutas
Born in Cusco, Perú; Biologist graduated at Univ. of San Antonio Abad del Cusco – UNSAAC. Since 1989 is an assitant of Dr. Jon Fjeldsa, of Copenhagen Zoological Museum and Natural History of the Univ. of Copenhagen. Working and implementing conservation projects at Nacional and International level. Member of field expeditions with Smithsonian Institute (1997-2000), National Geographic (2000) and others. Honorary Researcher of the Univ. of Plymouth – UK, Associated Researcher of Museo de Historia Natural de la UNMSM, Lima – Perú. Since 2000 is the president of Asociacion Ecosistemas Andinos – ECOAN, since 2018 is president of Acción Andina and Co-founder of Global Forest Generation, Member of the Steering Commitee of AZE. Grantee of many international donnors and recipient of many local, national and international recognitions as a conservation leader. On 2022 is recognized by United Nations (UN) as Champion of the Earth, on the category of Inspiration and Action. He is a laureate of the 2023 Rolex Initiative Awards, as part of the Perpetual Planet Initiative. As president and part of Acción Andina together the GFG have received many recognitions, such as the EarthShot Prize 2023 awarded by Prince William of the UK, and in the restoration decade they received the World Restoration FlagShip of the United Nations.
